Description
Hand-knotted entirely in silk, this elegant rug was made in the Western Anatolian town of Kayseri circa 1920. It contains a multitude of stylised animals throughout the soft-red field and deer can be seen standing on either side of cypress trees in the pale green main border.
The rug is in complete, very good condition albeit containing fairly heavy brown-dye corrosion in the central lozenge and drops.
Size: 2.13m x 1.53m (7' 0" x 5' 0").
