Description
This beautifully woven and decorated storage-bag was made by Baluch nomads in south-western Afghanistan circa 1900.
The face of the bag is intricately woven in weft-substitution technique and the back in plain-weave. The tassels have been lovingly attached with goat-hair braiding and apart from a small amount of fuchsine in some of the tassels, which dates the bag to around 1900, the colours are all natural.
It is in excellent condition.
